Mountain to Sound Trail long-term detour

Bellevue Transportation is continuing construction of Phase 3 of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trail between 142nd Place SE → 150th Avenue SE.

A yearlong directional closure along SE 36th Street (142nd Place SE → 150th Ave SE) is needed to continue building new retaining walls along the north side of SE 36th Street that will support a 12-foot-wide shared use path for walking, biking and rolling.

What to expect:

One‑way westbound traffic through the project area (150th Ave SE → 142nd Place SE)

Signed detour for eastbound drivers + a bike detour starting at 136th Pl SE

Detour in place Oct 2026 → late 2027
