Revive I-5: Six weekend-long southbound lane reductions start October 10

Earlier this summer, WSDOT completed preservation work on the northbound portion of the Ship Canal Bridge on I-5. Southbound preservation work begins in October.

Southbound I-5 across the Ship Canal Bridge will be reduced to two lanes Friday nights as early as 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday mornings the weekends of:

Oct. 10-13

Oct. 17-20

Oct. 31-Nov. 3

Nov. 21-24

Dec. 5-8

Jan 9-12, 2026

During southbound lane reductions, the express lanes will operate southbound-only 24 hours a day for the duration of work. Plan ahead to avoid delays and stay informed. Learn more about the major I-5 lane closures starting October 10.
