At Monday’s City Council meeting, a public hearing was held on the city’s intended assumption of the existing Bellevue Transportation Benefit District. The council formed the district in July.

Upcoming Eastrail Closures in Bellevue

From King County Metro: Eastrail will be closed in Bellevue between 108th Ave NE and 120th Ave NE for work to build a new ramp which will connect the Eastrail to the 520 Trail. The closed section is approximately between the South Kirkland Park and Ride and the Spring District in Bellevue. Closure dates: August 31 - September 1, September 5-8 and September 11-15

King County Metro will update its transit schedules September 2 to improve trip reliability for riders

From King County Metro: Based on these criteria, the Fall 2023 schedule includes temporary service reductions to 12 routes (Routes 7, 10, 20, 28, 36, 73, 79, 225, 230, 231, 255, 345), and temporary suspensions to 20 routes (Routes 15, 16, 18, 29, 55, 64, 114, 121, 167, 190, 214, 216, 217, 232, 237, 268, 301, 304, 320 and 342). Weekend reductions are limited to three routes (20, 28 and 73). 

Long-term daytime lane closure on Northup Way in Bellevue under way for I-405 seismic retrofit project

From WSDOT: From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on weekdays, Northup Way will be reduced to one lane between 116th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 33rd Place. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone.

From WSDOT: Beginning in 2023, WSDOT will build multiple structures under I-90 and local roads near Bellevue to restore natural stream conditions in Sunset Creek.

The webinars are scheduled for one hour and will take place via Zoom. All three webinars will have the same content. They will start with a presentation from staff about the benefit district, followed by a time for questions. Registration is not required.

Sound Transit invites the public to learn more about the 2024 Service Plan. The agency continues to prepare to deliver new transit service to the region in 2024, including a potential opening of 2 Line service between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology Stations, and adjusting ST Express service to provide connections to new Link stations.
